The Institute
TAFE NSW Western Institute was named Large Training Provider of the Year at the 2007 Australian Training Awards recognising the community engagement and educational excellence that contributes to the development and sustainability of central and western NSW.
The Institute services more than half the area of New South Wales, including some of Australia's most isolated and remote communities. It is a Registered Training Organisation (RTO) with ISO 9001: 2000 certification.
Western Institute has a well earned industry reputation for delivering courses that are innovative, hands-on, and that meet national and industry standards.
OVer 36,000 student enrolments are managed each year though 24 Colleges. Courses range from traditional trades to accounting, agriculture, beauty, business, children's services, communication, digital media, horticulture, hospitality, information technology, management, mining, nursing, veterinary nursing, viticulture and welfare, among others.
An increasing proportion of Western Institute's 500 courses are offered flexibly and online to meet the diverse needs of the region's communities and industries. These delivery options allow students throughout western NSW to choose from a wide selection of vocational courses and qualification levels, from Statement of Attainments, through to Certificates and Diplomas.
