Agreement of the Western Institute – eCounselling Terms and Conditions:
I have read the Western Institute – eCounselling Terms and Conditions and understand that Western Institute e-Counselling Service is provided as a short term counselling and advice service intended to assist Western Institute students to access information to help overcome vocational, educational and personal issues (such as career planning, choice of courses, training pathways, recognition of skills and qualifications, financial assistance, study problems and general difficulties) that affect their study or wellbeing. I understand that my e-Counselling records will be confidential. However, legal compliances require that if the responding counsellor is concerned about my safety or the safety of others, then this confidentiality may be broken. Records may be subpoenaed for court in exceptional circumstances. Under no other circumstances will the confidentiality of my personal record be broken. I understand that my confidential records remain the property of TAFE NSW Western Institute. I may request to view my personal information in these records.
I also understand that by using the online e-Counselling service, my messages and the reply by the TAFE Counsellor may be exposed to a greater risk of unintended disclosure than with face to face counselling.
I understand that service-wide statistical, non identifying material may be generated to allow the provision of services. This material may be used by Student Services and other areas of TAFE NSW Western Institute for funding, management planning, monitoring and improvement or evaluation of services.
