Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Support Services
Western Institute has the largest Aboriginal enrolment in TAFE NSW and our Aboriginal Education Coordinators can tailor TAFE courses to meet the specific employment and educational needs of our Aboriginal students and Aboriginal communities. Counselling and Career Services
Western Institute Counsellors offer career and educational counselling to current and prospective students. Services for Students with Disabilities
Western Institute employs specialist Consultants for Students with Disabilities to ensure that people with a disability have equal access to our education and training. Library Services
Western Institute offers a comprehensive library service to all of our enrolled students and provides you with automatic borrowing privileges to the extensive TAFE NSW Library network of more than 100 TAFE Libraries. For more information, go to TAFE Libraries.
Outreach Services
Western Institute offers an extensive network of Outreach programs to make our courses accessible to people who face barriers to learning. Our Outreach Coordinators talk with local communities, government and industry to determine the types of local courses that may be needed. For more information, go to Outreach Services.
Study Assist
Students planning to study at TAFE in 2012 can find out what Federal Government assistance is available to them by logging on to the new Study Assist website.
The website includes Information on available courses that students can study, Information on student loans available under the Higher Education Loan Program (HELP); and Information on Student Income Support options such as Youth Allowance.

Online Study Support Service
Students enrolling at TAFE Western this year will be able to benefit from a free online tutoring support service that will help them complete their course and succeed in their chosen studies regardless of where they live.
The online tutor service will provide valuable support to all students, particularly those who do not have face to face classes, and are not coming to a campus regularly as they are studying an online course or studying via distance education.For more information go to online study support.
