Conservation Land Management and Indigenous Land Management

Indigenous Land Management GroupHere at TAFE Western, we run a very strong Conservation Land Management (CLM) course and Indigenous Land Management (ILM) course. These courses have been delivered across the western region from Murrumbidgee to Broken Hill.

We offer CLM and ILM training from Certificate II to Diploma level. This training package is targeted towards people who work, or want to work, in natural resource management, especially in an outdoors environment. The training helps you develop competencies required by a wide range of sectors within the conservation and land management industry, including:

  • Natural Area Restoration
  • Weed Management
  • Vertebrate Pest Management
  • Conservation Earthworks - Lands, Parks and Wildlife
  • Community Coordination and Facilitation
  • Indigenous land management

CLM and ILM training provides students with various employment options such as working for local government, National Parks and Wildlife Service, bush regeneration organisations, Landcare and other environmental organisations. We currently deliver CLM traineeships to Indigenous and non-Indigenous trainees for the Department of Climate Change and Water. Additionally, we offer run training for National Parks and Wildlife Service trainees across the central west.
