Environment and Conservation

TAFE Western delivers extensive training towards environmental conservation and sustainable land management.  Industry partners include Aboriginal corporations, Landcare groups, Catchment Management Authorities, mining companies and the NSW Rural Fire Service. TAFE offers personalised training that targets industry needs, and ensures the best outcomes for learners. Many courses are offered by flexible or online delivery and can be tailored for specific needs.

The Environment Team

The Environment team is based in TAFE Western Rural Skills Centres at Orange and Dubbo. The team delivers training across the state and frequently visits remote areas including Walgett and Brewarrina. Current programs running for Semester 2, 2010 include Farm Planning, Indigenous Land Management, Environmental Management Systems and others available on request.

The Earthworks Team

TAFE Western's Conservation Earthworks team is located at Orange Rural Skills Centre and offers courses in many different areas across the state. TAFE Western offers Units of Competency in Forklift Operations, Slewing Mobile Crane, Dogging, Front-end Loader, Excavator Operations and Dozer Operations. Certificate III in Rangeland Conservation and Diploma of Conservation and Land Management (Conservation Earthworks) are also available.
