Dubbo Rural Skills Centre
Situated on the outskirts of Dubbo, the TAFE Western Dubbo Rural Skills Centre provides a wide range of training courses for primary producers, owners of small farms, new entrants to agriculture and horticulture, and to those thinking of investing in a rural business.
It is a purpose built rural campus for training in agriculture, animal studies, earthworks, environment, horticulture and shearing.
The campus is set in beautifully maintained gardens ad students have many opportunities to work with the landscape and gain practical experience on the site.
Facilities include, a shearing and wool shed, horse paddocks, fields that are used for large scale machinery and earthworks, as well as for practising tractor maintenance and motorbike riding.
Orange Rural Skills Centre
The Orange Rural Skills Centre is based on the outskirts of Orange and is a centre of excellence for animal studies, conservation earthworks, forestry, environment, horticulture, mining and viticulture.
The centre houses an administration block with specialist classrooms. In addition, a machinery shed, a greenhouse with an outdoor standout area and a soil sterilization area.
Expansion is currently underway at the site to include an area for a newly purchased Mining Simulator.
