Mining
Australia is the largest exporter of gold, iron ore and black coal in the world and the leader in mining and mineral processing technology (60% of the mining software used in operations around the world is exported from Australia).
Mining represents a significant and one of the fastest growing industries in central and western NSW. TAFE Western delivers customised training to the resources and infrastructure sector and in particular in the metalliferous, extractive, and drilling industries. The Institute is also able to deliver introductory programs and explosives training.
To enhance the delivery mining training TAFE Western uses two state of the art Mining Equipment Training Simulators which can support training in the use of a range of mining plant and equipment.
