Worplacement Requirements

Work placement means students are required, as a part of the course, to complete a specified number of hours in the work place. 

Workplacement is compulsory in the following Industry Curriculum Framework Courses:

  • Automotive
  • Business Services
  • Construction
  • Electrotechnology
  • Hospitality
  • Human Services
  • Entertainment
  • Information Technology
  • Metal and Engineering
  • Primary Industries
  • Retail
  • Tourism

Work placement is compulsory in the following Board Endorsed Courses:

  • Animal Studies (240 hour course)
  • Beauty Therapy - Make up (240 hour course)
  • Beauty Therapy - Nails (240 hour course)
  • Children's Services Certificate III
  • Computer Aided Drafting
  • Hairdressing (240 hour course)
  • Health Services Assistance

Workplacement is compulsory in the following locally designed TVET courses:

  • Opal Cutting and Polishing
  • Resources and Infrastructure (Mining)
  • Workplace Communication

Workplacement is strongly recommended in the following TVET courses:

  • Design Fundamentals
  • Property Services
  • Screen and Media
  • Visual Arts and Contemporary Crafts
