Sport and Recreation

The past decade has seen a growing awareness of the importance of a healthy lifestyle and an increased interest in all sport, fitness and recreation activities.

Fitness instructors, personal trainers, and floor supervisors can generally find work anywhere in Australia, and some will gain prominence through national competitions.

For every level of sporting activity, there are also many jobs available for coaches, officials and referees, sports development officers, administrators, trainers, curators or ground maintenance staff, physicians, physiotherapists, psychologists, venue operators, and many others.

Outdoor Recreation

Training and assessment in outdoor recreation at TAFE NSW - Western Institute is based at the Lithgow College. The Institute is the largest training provider of nationally accredited Outdoor Recreation training and assessment in Australia, enrolling over 500 students each year.
