Applying for courses which require an early application

A limited number of "high demand" TAFE NSW courses require an application. Course details on this web site and in the TAFE Western Course Directory indicate when a course requires an application. There is also a complete list of Application Courses.

Application forms

To apply for an application course you must complete the TAFE NSW Course Application Form (146 kB) which is also available from any Western Institute Campus.  

Opening and closing dates

Semester 1, 2012

Applications for courses in Semester 1, 2012 open on Monday 8 August, 2011 and close on Friday 28 October, 2011.

Amendments to applications

If you change your mind after sumitting an application form, you can complete an amendment form before the Application Course closing date. TAFE NSW Course Application Amendment Form (48 kB).

Notification

All applications are assessed using a predetermined set of guidelines. Applicants will be notified in writing (during January for Semester I and June for Semester 2 applications). Successful applicants will also be informed of how to enrol,  online or in person.

Most courses do not require an application

The majority of courses do not require an application.  However, some courses require attendance at an information session or an interview prior to enrolment. These requirements are noted along with the location details in TAFE Western Course Information and the Student Directory.
