Applications and Enrolments
To gain a place in most TAFE courses you need to attend an Enrolment Day which is held before the start of each semester. Some courses where there is a high demand may require an early application. These are referred to as "application courses".
Students may still be able to gain entry to an application course on an Enrolment Day even if they have not completed an early application but this is dependent on available places.
Every course offered by TAFE is subject to viable class sizes, and so some courses may be postponed if enrolments are below these levels. In this case interested students may choose to enrol in a different course or at a different College, or wait until the next time the course is offered.
Key dates for early applications and enrolments
Semester 1, 2009
Applications (for courses requiring early application) open on Monday, 11th August 2008 and close on Friday, 31st October 2008.
Enrolment Days for all courses at each College in Western Institute are Thursday and Friday, 29 & 30 January 2009 from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm.
