Training Options
Institute based (off the job)
Your trainee is released from the worksite and training is usually conducted in a classroom environment. In some instances, the structured training is delivered at the employer's premises, away from the worksite and does not involve productive work.
Flexible Work-based
The employer is largely responsible for the delivery of the structured workplace training. TAFE NSW Western Institute is responsible for the quality of the training, assessment and certification of the training outcomes for individual trainees. The pathway involves structured training and assessment by appropriately qualified TAFE NSW Western Institute teachers/assessors, which occurs wholly on the job or is a mixture of any delivery mode.
Distance
This form of traineeship involves any form of self-paced learning that allows trainees to study outside the worksite or classroom context.
The trainee receives learning materials, which direct the trainee through the structured training, and communication between trainers and trainees is primarily by distance with support through the mail, telephone, computer and Internet access.
