Traineeship Options
New entrant traineeships
New entrant traineeships are available to new employees or employees that have worked for a business for less than 3 months.
There are provisions that allow employers to offer a new entrant traineeship to casual or part-time employees. For more information contact your local Australian Apprenticeships Centre.
Existing worker traineeships
In some cases it may be possible to employ a current employee under an existing worker traineeship.

School based traineeships
In some cases it may be possible to employ a senior school student under a part-time school based traineeship.
Part-time traineeships in schools provide senior secondary students with three qualifications:
- a nationally recognised VET qualification under the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF)
- a Certificate of Proficiency on satisfactory completion of the traineeship
- credit toward the Higher School Certificate (HSC).

To find a trainee
There are a number of ways to find an trainee:
- Contact a Job Network provider such as Staff Recruitment Group
- Recruit someone you know or who has been recommended to you
- Advertise the position in a local paper
- Contact a Group Training provider
